Technology is the defining challenge of our time

Parents are up against some of the most powerful companies in the world and they're doing it without a playbook. Phones are everywhere. Anxiety is rising. And the relationships that matter most, between partners, parents and kids, and even our relationship with ourselves, are quietly paying the price.

I started Unplugged Counseling because I've seen this up close. Professionally, working with individuals and families navigating anxiety and relationship challenges, I kept seeing the same thread running through it all: technology and our relationship with it. And personally, I've felt it too. The pull of the phone. The slow creep of over-reliance. The way it can disconnect us from the very people sitting right next to us.

This isn't about demonizing technology. It's about making it work for you instead of the other way around.

About Me

I'm a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) with three years of experience working with individuals, couples, and families as both a therapist and a coach.

My clinical specialties include:

  • Technology's impact — on mental health, family systems, and the way we connect with each other

  • Anxiety — understanding where it comes from, how it shows up, and how to manage it in real life

  • Communication — helping people say what they mean and actually be heard

  • Relationships — the dynamics between partners, parents and kids, and individuals with themselves

I'm trained in family systems theory, which means I look at the whole picture — not just one person in isolation, but how everyone in a family influences and is influenced by each other. When technology enters that system, it doesn't just affect one person. It changes the whole dynamic. That's what I'm here to help with.

My Approach

I work as both a licensed therapist and a coach, which means I can meet you wherever you are — whether you need clinical support or practical, hands-on guidance.

My approach is built around a few core beliefs:

  • Tech-Neutral & Client-Centered — I'm not here to hand you a rulebook. I'm here to listen, understand your situation, and build something that actually fits your life.

  • Systemic — Technology doesn't affect just one person. We look at the whole picture: the family, the relationships, the patterns.

  • Mindfulness & Self-Compassion — We get curious about what's really going on beneath the surface, and we approach it without judgment or shame. You're not failing, you're human.

  • Educational & Committed Action — You'll leave with real knowledge, real tools, and a real plan. Not just insight but actual steps you can take.
